It’s difficult to believe that the path of a creative is a natural one. Similar to a sculptor who fashions a figure from raw material, as long as we have the capability all that’s stopping us is the skill gap that’s closed through learning and cultivation.

How can we help aid this process? Just as our sense of self was passed on to us through emulation and imitation, copying the strategies of the greats can shape new patterns of behaviour, ultimately becoming “active makers of ourselves”.

While there is never any guarantee that we will be successful in our pursuit, the mere chance that we may should be enough to push us forward toward our goal.
